Our childbirth education classes are rooted in the Lamaze techniques and the so called six healthy birth practices. 

• Let labor begin on its own.
• Walk, move around and change positions throughout labor.
• Bring a loved one, friend or doula for continuous support.
• Avoid interventions that are not medically necessary.
• Avoid giving birth on your back and follow your body's urges to push.
• Keep mother and baby together — it's best for mother, baby, and breastfeeding.

Day 1: The Different Stages of Labor, Calming Breathing Techniques, Finding Comfortable Positions, Ways to Ease Discomfort, Guided Meditation, and Engaging Videos

1. Understanding Labor: We'll walk through the stages of labor, so you'll have a clear idea of what to expect as your baby makes their entrance into the world.
2. Breathing Techniques: We'll practice some soothing breathing exercises that can help you stay calm and centered during labor.
3. Positioning: Discover how different positions and movements can make your labor experience more comfortable and help your baby arrive smoothly.
4. Comfort Measures: Learn practical ways to ease any discomfort you might feel during labor. These can be a real source of relief!
5. Guided Meditation: We'll explore a peaceful meditation technique with uplifting messages to boost your confidence and relaxation.
6. Videos: You'll watch interesting and heartwarming videos that show real-life birth experiences, including natural births, births with pain relief, and C-sections. We'll chat about what's happening in these videos.

Day 2: Medical Interventions, Pain Relief Options, Taking Care of Yourself After Birth, Breastfeeding Basics, and Keeping Your Baby Safe While Sleeping

1. Medical Interventions: We'll talk about why and when medical interventions might be necessary during labor and birth, always with your well-being in mind.
2. Pain Relief Options: Explore different ways to manage pain, including medications and epidurals, so you can make choices that feel right for you.
3. Postpartum Care: Discover how to take care of yourself after giving birth, including how to navigate the physical and emotional changes that come with it.
4. Breastfeeding Basics: Get to know the wonderful world of breastfeeding, from its many benefits to how to start and succeed with confidence.
5. Safe Baby Sleeping: Learn about creating a cozy and safe sleeping environment for your newborn, an important part of keeping your baby safe and sound.

You and your partner will be led through your journey with our experienced and certified Lamaze childbirth educator Peggy and you will learn to trust your body to birth, to heal and to nurture with ease. Our group classes are back to back days over one weekend, divided into 4 hours sessions. 

The first class is held on Friday from 5- 9pm and the following Saturday from 12 - 4pm
