Like a doula, a Monitrice offers encouragement, comfort, and guidance to help you through your birthing journey. However, a Monitrice also brings additional medical skills, such as monitoring fetal heart tones, checking vital signs, and assessing cervical progress—all in the comfort of your home during early labor.

What is included:
- Up to 2-5 extra prenatal visits with your OB schedule
- Monitrice services at home during labor, plus support transitioning to the hospital or birthing center
- 1-2 postpartum visits

A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to you before, during, and after birth. My role is to help you feel confident, empowered, and supported, guiding you through labor and the early postpartum period while honoring your birth choices.

a la carte Postpartum Care
À la Carte Postpartum Care
For families birthing in hospitals, the standard postpartum check-up often doesn’t occur until six weeks after delivery, leaving many families in need of additional support during those crucial early weeks. Our à la carte postpartum care fills this gap with personalized home and office visits designed to support both mother and baby.
Visits are scheduled as follows:
- In-home: Around days 3 and 7 postpartum
- In-office: At 2, 4, and 6 weeks postpartum
Care includes:
- Monitoring the mother’s healing and vital signs
- Breastfeeding support
- Screening for emotional well-being and mood
- Newborn weight checks and feeding assessments
- Guidance on family wellness, sleep, and newborn care
